User Experience & Interface Audit 7/10/24

At RealtyView, we are dedicated to providing the most efficient and user-friendly experience for real estate professionals. Our commitment to continuous improvement is reflected in our regular User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) audits. These audits help us identify areas for enhancement, ensuring our platform remains intuitive, effective, and aligned with the needs of our users. Documents such as audits are normally held internally by companies and associations however, we believe in transparency. Transparency builds effective communication which in turn helps us build better products for you.

Purpose of the Audit

The primary goal of this audit was to evaluate the current state of our platform’s usability and visual design. By gathering feedback from real estate agents, brokers, and other stakeholders, we aimed to pinpoint specific pain points and opportunities for improvement.

Key Findings

Visual Imbalance: There are inconsistencies in color schemes, typography, and hover states that do not align with the brand’s identity. This visual disparity can affect user perception and overall experience.

Responsiveness Issues: The application has responsiveness problems, especially on mobile devices, where certain screens are cut off. This affects usability and accessibility across different devices.

State Interaction Inconsistencies: There are inconsistencies in how state interactions are handled across the platform, leading to potential user confusion.

Feedback System Flaws: Attempting the same action twice results in a “No record found” message, indicating a need for improvement in the feedback mechanisms.

Figure-Ground Relationship: Issues with figure-ground relationships were identified, which can affect the user’s ability to focus on primary content.

Inconsistent Icons: Icons used throughout the application are not consistent, leading to cognitive overload for users.

Symmetry and Layout Balance: Symmetry and visual weight are not balanced properly, resulting in a less aesthetically pleasing and organized interface.

Avatar and Personalization: Placeholder avatars lack uniformity, making it challenging for users to identify themselves and others within the platform.
